Wengen Switzerland
Hi, I am looking for a hotel close to train station in Wengen. Does anyone know how close the Bellvedere is to the train drop off point? Can anyone suggest a good hotel in the vicinity of the train station and with great views, nice rooms, breakfast etc. Thanks. Sue

Wengen is tiny, no cars. All hotels are close to the train station.
Many hotels have golf carts to zoom you to and from the train station.
The Hotel Schonegg is a very good hotel, although former owner Herr Rene and gal pal Sina have retired to Bern.
A member of the German royal family likes to stay at the Schonegg when she goes to Wengen to ski.
Bellevue has the best views of Lauterbrunnen Valley, but owner Judith is very difficult.
It would take me 10 minutes to walk from Belvedere to Wengen Bahnhof.

Wengen is quite tiny and so is the 'train station' if you can call it that: one little tiny building. I have seen the golf carts from the hotels picking up the guests and returning them to the train. Quite a lovely little town. I would just ask any hotel you consider if they will pick you up at the train...I am pretty sure they will.

Hi Sue81,
On your other thread, I gave my first recommendation of the 3-star Hotel Alpenrose, and I told you about the electric van they use to pick up folks from the train station, so I know you know about that service that most hotels there provide.
The 4-star Hotel Silberhorn sits just across from the train station in Wengen. Though I haven't ever stayed there, I did enjoy a long, leisurely lunch there with my mom one time, and I was impressed with the decor and the staff. I imagine the rooms have impressive views, as most/all (?) hotels in Wengen do.
Have fun as you plan!

Hi, thanks for all of your responses. I am checking on all of them. Had knee replacement in the past, and doing good, but also trying to make it a tad easier on myself if needed. Silberhorn sounds nice as do the others. Sue

To Pepper/or Thin....As far as the Schonegg Hotel, someone mentioned lots of stairs, do you happen to recall how difficult that seemed to be. I think also someone mentioned an elevator on the outside or something like that. I am trying to check all of them out. Thanks. I wonder if the Alpenrose or Silberhorn have an elevator? Sue
