suggestions for a hotel not too far from Malpensa ?

We want to spend our last night in the Lake District at a nice Hotel not too far from Malpensa as we have a 10:20 am flight the next morning. Any suggestions?

There have been several threads on this... I'd suggest you do a search.

I can recommend the Villa Malpensa.

Come on Bob, there must be at least 152.

I've stayed at Villa Malpensa twice, however I wouldn't say it is in the Lake District. It is about a 3 minute drive to Malpensa and while it is very nice, it is also pricey. Over 200 Euro / night.

In addition, the restaurant at the hotel is way over priced and there isn't many other restaurants around.

I disagree that restaurant at Villa Malpensa is overpriced . . . especially when you conider the quality of the cuisine. and the wine list is fabulous and well-priced. The IS another alternative. Within walking distance of the hotel, in the village of Vizzola Ticino, is the small but excellent Il Manero, with tables outside. I had the best version of Risotto Milanese ever!

Virgo, I had the risotto Milanese at that place. You're right, it is awesome. So is the rest of the food there.

However, the last time I was there, they were closed. I forget what day of the week it was but I was bummed.

Last Thursday we stayed in Arona (city on Lake Maggorie) the night before our 10:20 am flight out of Malpensa. It is a cute city with activity and was about 30 mins to MXP because we hit morning work traffic on the way. Make sure you know which terminal you're leaving from if you're driving.
