Siena - Hotel Comparison

I am planning a June Honeymoon and I am researching two different hotels in Siena.

The Locanda dell Amorosa and the Palazzo Ravizza. I have checked tripadvisor and this website, and have found Amorosa to be the top choice; however, it is somewhat more expensive and farther than the Ravizza.

I love the pictures and reviews from Amorosa but would like some opinions and personal preferences. I will likely stay for 5 nights before moving on to Rome.

Thanks.

You cannot compare those two places. Amorosa is :30 outside Siena and isolated---Ravizza is in Siena. I do love Amorosa but it is not cheap and you will need a car. There is a wide gap between those 2---there must be 5 other properties that compare favorably you should consider. Here is one: www.franceslodge.it

bob - thank you. I will start looking into that particular hotel.

Is there any other hotel, in Siena or another city in the area that you would recommend. I am looking for a very romantic and relaxing location with a great view before traveling to Rome.

Assuming you will have a car, I would also consider these places:

www.palazzodelcapitano.com

Good luck !

My husband and I stayed at the Palazzo Ravizza last fall. We highly recommend it. We rented a car in Rome and drove to various areas in Tuscany. Parking in Siena is difficult but the hotel has a free parking area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was quite adequate plus quiet and overlooked the countryside. It is within easy walking distance to the main area of Siena. The hotel also has 3 computers with free internet access. We stayed 3 nights and wouldn't hesistate to stay there again.

Katie2 - If possible I would like to know more about your trip. Although, I love all the hotel reviews, I am also concerned about how to get to Siena. I would like some information regarding traveling to Siena from an Airport.

We stayed in Palazzo Ravisa a few years ago---one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Rooms are large and gorgeous, and the food is very delicious and gurmet. It is in a great location to explore Siena. Highly recommend!!
