Seat assignments on Iberia's transatlantic flights
Hi,
Can anybody that has flown Iberia between the US and Spain (and/ or viceversa) tell me if they will give you seat assignments at the time of booking the flights?

ekscrunchy, did you already take this trip?
This is for my parents. A few years ago they had a bad experience where Iberia refused to give them seats assignments in advance until they got to the airport. It might have something to do that their ticket was purchased through a cruise line.

Most airlines have seat assignment blackout periods after a certain percentage of seats are filled. They may release a few more seats now and then as flight date approaches, so it pays to keep checking back if you don't get a seat assignment when you make your reservation.

We got seat assignments at the time of booking for our trip in May to Barcelona from Boston. I just got an email that says the seats are confirmed, and it also allows you to view the seats and change your seat on line.

Jd, can you please help me, where on the Iberia webside you can see a seats assignment ? I called then and we can hardly hear each other, and I didn't get any emails, and didn't see an option to select seats on the time of booking. Thanks a lot

I am having difficulty obtaining seat assignments on the Iberia transatlantic portion of my trip booked through American Airlines. See the thread at

Good luck. I thought I had my problem solved after another hour on the phone with Iberia and then with American, and American sent me an itinerary with seats assigned on the Iberia flights, but I called Iberia back to confirm, and they show NO seats assigned for my family.
Well, other than pay a lot to upgrade to business, I can't think of anything else I can do at this point. Good luck with your seats! Have a great trip.

I also saw no place on the website to request seats at the time of booking (or later, via my email confirmation or the website), so I called to do so and had no problem on the phone.
However, when I sign in to the Booking Management page, the seats are not listed there, so I am emailing Iberia to confirm.
If you did not receive an email confirmation of your purchase, you should check into that. Did you write down your booking code when you purchased the tickets?
