ROME Travel - BIRG Tickets and the zone map
Hello all, I am trying to decide which BIRG ticket should I buy if I want to get around in Rome for 3 days, basically going to the most common sight-seeing spots, e.g. the Colosseum, the Pantheon etc. However I have no idea what the 7 zones refer to in Rome. Can anyone help here? Many thanks!!

If you just need to see Rome, you don't need a BIRG ticket, just a standard ATAC or "metrebus" ticket. The BIRG ticket, distributed by COTRAL, covers the province of Lazio - not just the city of Rome. A 5-zone BIRG ticket will get you all the way to out to Civitaveccia. For most folks, the standard ATAC ticket which covers the 2 zones of the "Rome city," will do.

A 3-day ATAC ticket currently costs €11 and is good until midnight of the third day.
