Integrated Tourist Ticket Rome
I leave for Rome tomorrow, and I'm wondering if it makes sense for me to buy an integrated tourist ticket to ride the metro, buses and trams in the city? The cost is 11 Euro, which seems reasonable if I'm going to use public transportation exclusively for three days. My hotel is located halfway between FCO and Termini, so nothing is within walking distance. Any help would be great!

We returned from Italy recently. We were in Rome for six days and did not buy an integrated ticket.
At tobacco shops, for one Euro, you can buy tickets good for 75 minutes on any bus or subway.
I see no need to get tangled up with an 11 Euro ticket that my include museum options that don't interest you or that you won't be able to visit for one reason or another.
(The one combination ticket we bought was for three museums--two of which were closed!)

Excuse me. We tried to buy the 11-Euro ticket, but we were told it wasn't for sale any place except at the main bus station near the train station. We gave up and bought individual tickets. We concluded the cost was about the same.

If you plan to visit any museums, it would be better to buy the Roma Pass for 20€ which would include transportation for 3 days and free admission to two sites (Coloseum, Borghese, etc.)and reduced admission at others.

Yes, I second kybourbon's suggestion. Having just come back from Rome, I agree that if you plan to go to two museums (covered by the Pass -- most likely Colosseum/Palatine + Borghese Gallery), and you do use buses, then it's a good deal.
However note that Borghese Gallery requires an advance reservation, and if you haven't done this yet, you should call them. I called a few days prior when I was in Rome since I wasn't planning to visit initially. It was not a problem.
