Does anyone know if the daily B.I.R.G Ticket is good for 24 hours on all Trenitalia 2nd class lines as well as all metro and bus tickets in Rome. We will be travelling from Civitiavecchia to Rome on Trenitalia and would like to use the ticket as well on the Rome city transportation. Thanks for any imput.

AFAIK - The BIRG tickets are zoned and you would have to purchase the one that would include the zones you are traveling (Rome is A and I think Civitavecchia is E = 6 zones). You can look at the maps on Atac for the zones and prices (it appears to be 10.5E for this one).

From ATAC website"
>>>>Where can I use it?
On public transport within Rome:
- on buses, trams, trolleybuses and Cotral coaches
- on the metro lines A and B
- on Met.Ro regional trains: Rome–Lido, Rome–Viterbo, Rome–Pantano
- on Trenitalia regional trains (travelling second class)
Please remember that...
BIRG ticket holders must personalize their tickets, completing the ticket with their personal details and the travel zones in which the ticket is valid. In order to be valid, BIRG tickets must be validated at the beginning of your journey. Please have the ticket ready to show to ticket inspectors on request.<<<<<
Validating means stamping it in the ticket machine before you get on the train/bus the first time.
