Recommend a restaurant with a view for last night in Rome?

Our group of 11 adults would like to eat together our last night in Rome. We're looking for moderately priced with a great view. The group can get loud at times, so a livelier or outdoor atmosphere is best. Food does not need to be creative, just taste great.

Most of the restaurants that have views (I assume you mean something overlooking the city) are on top of hotels (Hassler, Eden, Atlante Star). The best food is at the Eden but it is very expensive and elegant, not a place I would bring a large noisy group to. I would't waste my time at the other two places-mediocre, overpriced food. Ciampini, near the top of the Spanish Steps and across from the Villa Medici, has a nice view from its outdoor terrace but the food is again mediocre. It is a nice place to stop and have a drink or gelato in the late afternoon though. Would you consider a picturesque piazza? There is Vecchia Roma, Pierluigi, and Tana di Noantri all in quiet, interesting piazzas, midrange prices and decent food. All would accomadate a group of 11.

Thanks Grinisa! Stupid question: What's the difference between a restaurant and a piazza?

G. is asking if a view of a piazza ( a square..i.e. Piazza de Spagna, Piazza de Popoli, etc)would satisy rather than an overview of the city!

A piazza is a square or plaza, an open air patio, in which restaurants place tables for dining outside. This is opposed to a rooftop garden or terrace which would have a view overlooking the city. The piazzas are of course, on the ground; but in Rome, they are some of the most scenic corners of the city.
