Paris Passage Music Box Shop

From a previous post:

On the Passage du Perron (Palais royal) there's a shop specialised in music boxes. It sells all kinds, including minute ones that would make fabulous gifts.

I would love to visit this shop on our upcoming trip. Does anyone have more info on it. Thanks!

I went on a self-guided tour of shopping passages last May with my Dad. The end of the tour was in the Palais Royale arcaded shopping area.

My advice is bring lots of money. I distinctly remember looking through a shop window that was filled with little black dresses. The door was locked so you had to be buzzed in. The "cheapest" little black dress I saw was 500euro. (Not that I need a little black dress but hey, I'm curious. ) I can't imagine the music boxes in that area would be even close to affordable.

I just did a search for Passage due Perron and found this site http://www.insecula.com/us/salle/MS01344.html.

It has a picture of the entrance of the Passage and a picture of the music box store as well. I can't quite make out the name but it looks like Arron Juliet boîte à musique. The Passage looks to be located at 9 rue de Beaujolais in the 1er arrondisement (at Palais Royale).

Enjoy your trip.

Thanks for the help finding this shop. I bought several music boxes. While a few of them were expensive, most were very affordable. It was raining while we were in Paris and we bought a little music box that played singing in the rain.

I am kicking myself for not buying any music boxes when we were there in Feb. That shop will be at the top of my list next time we are in Paris!
