Paris - Hotel de Fleurie cancellations?
I booked the Hotel de Fleurie for my trip to Paris next week back in March and they've just emailed me to inform me due to repairs they cannot accomodate my reservation. They did book me another hotel - Hotel Dauphine St Germain. I was really dissapointed b/c the reviews of Fleurie are much better than Dauphine. Does anyone have any recent experiences at Dauphine?

Not sure why the Fleurie re-booked you at the Dauphine St. Germain as they are not related. At least I didn't think they were related. They own the Hotel de Saint Germain on rue du Four, but the rooms are miniscule from what I read. The location is good but it seems to not be as popular as the Fleurie. If I were you I would read other posts here regarding hotel choices as you have alot of time to book still. I would suggest Hotel Le Regent which is nearby. Many people like this hotel and I dropped in last year for a brochure. I found the staff very welcoming.

They may very well have booked you into the Hotel Dauphine because so many other hotels were full.
Must you stay in the 6th? There are rooms available for your dates at the Sofitel Baltimore http://www.sofitel.com/sofitel/fiche...he_hotel.shtml
At the moment, all they're showing left are doubles at the full rate of 475 euro per night (ouch), but one of the online sites may be able to offer you a better deal. Normally, we can find rooms there for about 200 euro per night (although we stay at Sofitel Le Parc nearby).
The new Hotel Sezz (www.hotelsezz.com) is offering promotional rates of about 245 euro per night.

Thanks for your help, but it looks like we will be staying with the Dauphine. I've looked at more hotels today (incl. the Sofitel hotels) and they are all much more expensive than I would like to spend. We are getting the Dauphine for 185 euros a night, same price we booked the Fleurie.
