I have not stayed at the Sasso but plan to in a few days. There has been some discussion about this on this site already. Do a search on palazzo sasso. I remember that one person thought an inside room was ok because there are public areas outside overlooking the sea. Someone else said it rained most of the time they were there and they could not use the outdoor public areas with the view. The hotel surely looks fabulous on the website. Happy travels.

Wish I could be more help - I just got back from Palazzo Sasso - but I had a room overlooking the sea. I can't picture where an inside room might be. My only thought is that the sea view is so gorgeous - perhaps there is another hotel that could offer you that if PS doesn't have one available - perhaps the Palumbo or Villa Cimbrone.

We stayed at the Palazzo Sasso for one night May 7th on our way to Le Sireneuse in Positano. We had a King Mt. View which was not large by any means, and a sort of mt. view. I really cannot say where the internal no view rooms are.
However, there are beautiful patios with tables, umbrellas etc. overlooking the sea and mountains. Unfortunately, it was still a little rainy when we stayed, so they were not set up. If your weather is good, you will be able to enjoy the views from there. One level down from the patios is the pool area set up with lounge chairs etc. Also, there is a a very large public area inside with couches, chairs and windows where you can sit and enjoy the beautiful views. If I am remembering correctly, the sea view rooms had a large window but no balcony, so you would have to stand at the window to see the view.
We really loved the hotel, and I think you will too - view-room or not.

Hi Lucien, Just returned and am posting as requested. I did not get to see an inside room. I tried peeking into some other rooms when they were being cleaned but the housekeeping would tell you that guests were there so I just gave up. We thought the hotel was fabulous. Our room was a queen seaview. They are plenty of public spaces with great views. Even if you have some rain you should be able to sit inside and see the view in the public areas. Antonio was exceptionally helpful as indeed were all the staff. We ate at Rosellini's (sp)one night and though we thought it was expensive our food was delicious and the presentation was exceptional. If you have nice weather, breakfast is served outside and all the views are spectacular. I hope you have a wonderful experience here. We surely did. Happy travels.

I stayed at the Palazzo Sasso last summer on my honeymoon. We had an outside room. Although I did not see an inside room, I do remember that the inside part of the hotel where they elevators were was lite by a skylight and it was pretty bright, although no windows to the outside. So, if your inside room opened onto this inner part, it might not be too bad. It is a wonderful, beautiful hotel. Just be prepared that the food/wine at the hotel is VERY expensive. I work in NYC, so I though I was immune to restaurant sticker shock, but these prices were really high. Great breakfast is included in the room price though, complete with champagne, so have a big, late breakfast and skip lunch. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the responses. We are just back from our trip and the reports are correct: this is a great hotel!! We loved every minute. The inside room question was a mute point because we upgraded to a seaview with a balcony. I think there are only 2 of these. Very expensive but what a view! This may be the best hotel we have ever stayed in. Only small complaint is on Rosselinis. We thought it overpriced and the food too "eclectic" for Ravello although the service was flawless. Eat instead at Cumpa Cosimo, Vittorias or the hotel cafe, all with great food. Antonio and staff are great. The included breakfast is not your standard "continental". Full hot and cold layout with omelets to order and ofcourse spumomte served on the hotel terrace with that incredible view! Wow! All needs are anticipated. You even get to choose the type of sheets you sleep on: cotton, linen or satin! Wed night managers reception w/ more spumonte/prosecco. Highly rec the walk from Ravello to Amalfi via Atrani. Breathtaking! Ravello is sublime. Definitely do the concerts at Villa Rufolo. Very romantic. Bottom line: If you can afford it stay at this hotel. Pure luxury and pampering. I will post a complete report on our trip later.

I read this thread a bit late - but just wanted to add that I too stayed at the Palazzo Sasso for my honeymoon last spring. We had the mountain view but didn't spend much time in the room. The room was small but beautifully decorated. We got complimentary lemon cello. The grounds were so beautiful - hope you had a chance to enjoy the hot tubs on the roof!! Awesome views - expensive but - worth it!!! Will love to return there again soon.

My wife, daughter and I stayed there three weeks ago. We had a room with an incredible view, so I can't speak to interior views. as other postings said there are many fine spaces to enjoy the exceptional views..........dining areas, multiple terraces, roof garden and more. I woul not worry about it...........just go. An incredible property in every respect.
