Must see/experience in Barcelona?

I am traveling to Barcelona with my fiancee this April. We are currently working on our itinerary and I was hoping I could get some opinions from others about what to see and do. Great restaurants are helpful, too. What do you recommend while we are in Barcelona?

Well, number one, anything by Gaudi:
especially Sagrada Familia, but also Casa Mila and Parc Guell. Then, the Picaso Museum and a walk down the Ramblas.

Sagrada Familia is the number one must-see. Take your time seeing it and don't just rush by for a photo-stop.

I agree about the Gaudi sights, and would add Casa Batllo.

The Destinations section of this website lists attractions, and has sample itineraries.

Hi,

Check out LAS RAMBLAS.
Dunno about your budget I stayed at this place called AAA Apartments Serenity, Perfect location. Just one block from LAS RAMBLAS and two blocks from the sea shore. There is a small kitchen where I cooked and saved a lot of money. Small hostel and nothing fancy but best for the money I paid for. I do recommend it.

If you wish try it out....
Or get a good deal from www.hosteltraveler.com

Check outthe latest Travel and Leisure (April) with a large article on Barcelona. We stayed at The Continental which is right on The Ramblas..Maybe it's me, butI wasn'tinpressed with the church..it's a little much for me, but preferred the modern work..

depends on your interest....etc
I did not like Ramblas one bit - almost any other place in Barcelona is more beautiful, more interesting and less of a touristy rip -off

My husband was just in Barcelona on his way to Tarragona; he LOVED Tarragona (Roman ruins, parks, nice walks) and the aquaduct right outside of town. To me, from the pictures he took and report he gave (he was on business with fellow workers there in Tarragona but had a little sight-seeing time), Tarragona looked much more romantic/honeymoonish than the big city of Barcelona. You didn't give any info about days, interests, or travel plans, but you might check Tarragona out. If my DH ever has business there again, I will be trying to figure out how to go along!
