Luggage storage in Barcelona

My flight to Barcelona gets in around 8:00 a.m. on Oct 1. We are going on a Mediterrean cruise and can't board until around 12:00. Is there any place we can leave our luggage so that we can spend those 4 hours or so, walking around Barcelona before boarding the cruise ship instead of sitting in the ship terminal? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

See if the Estacion de Franca - a main train station in the center of Barcelona that i think may be close to some boat docks has luggage storage, which only main Spanish stations offer now due to the threat of various terrorists.

I would think this main station would have the necessary screenings devices to operate one

But if your flight gets in a 8am and you do not get out of the airport and into town say by 10am and you have to wait in line to deposit the luggage and perhaps to withdraw it...

Thanks for the information. I was thinking that even a hotel for a fee might allow us to leave our luggage for a few hours.

There are luggage lockers ("consignas") at Barcelona Sants station, open from 0530 to 2300 daily (€3 for small lockers, €4.50 for larger ones). There are no lockers at the Estacion de França. Details of facilities at Spanish railway stations are on www.adif.es.

Yes, Sants have lockers. I used to use the ones on the platforms of Passeig Gracia station in the middle of Barcelona city center, that was so convenient but are no more.
