Barcelona suitcase check?
One of the things I most like about this site is the practical details that are often discussed. Perhaps someone could help us with this one, please-
We're getting off a cruise ship in Barcelona early in the morning and want to spend the day touring the city untill we have to board a plane at 8pm.
The cruise line tells me there is no where to check luggage at the port- does anyone know of a place in Barcelona where we can safely leave our luggage? Dragging them around all day isn't really an option.
Thanks very much!

Exactly.
The only place I know is the coin operated luggage lockers at Barcelona Sants station with X-ray security check. There is none at Plaça Catalunya station as I checked a few times. I used lockers at the Passeig de Gràcia until December 2006. But it was closed in December 2007. I'm not sure if it was closed down permanently or just temporary thing. Perhaps you can check it because if this is open, it will be more convenient being city ceter, just by the Casa Mila of Gaudi. They are (or used to be)located at the other end from the main entrance, on the 2 platforms (there are only 2 platforms at he station.

The left luggage is called "Consigna".
at sants, this will be most convenient for your return to airport by train. (or you can take a taxi from there)
the tourist bus stops just in front of the station if that is what you want to do with your spare time.
