London in March

Hi. This will be my husband and I's first time to London. What is the weather like in March? Is that a good time to go? Where did you stay and how did you like it? Are there any hotels that have a private shower/toliet? Thanks.

The weather in March is cold and rainy. Check the destination guide on this site for average temp. information. I would also suggest that you do a search on this site for hotel recommendations. As for the shower/toilet question- Most hotels offer private showers/toilets and will say so on their website. Just make sure to ask the question before you book to be sure It shouldn't be a problem.

We went to London for a week in March 2002 and have a return trip scheduled for March 2003. We like March as it is the so-called "off season". It rained each day except for one. Now, that doesn't mean that it poured all day or even lightly rained all day, it didn't. But at some point during each day it did rain and a couple of days it rained on and off. Upon our arrival it was a nice sunny day so to stay awake we decided to walk to Kensington Palace without our umbrellas. Big mistake! Upon leaving Kensington Palace it was raining steadily and we had to walk back to our hotel. So to be on the safe side, bring an umbrella or rain jacket with you each day. By the way, my first trip to London was during the month of September. It never rained one day the whole week. You can never second guess the weather. Have fun!

We were there the at the end of March, 2002, and had weather like Lynn described above. Be prepared and you'll be fine. The trade off was no lines. It was worth it.
