Last night in Switzerland ~ Seehotel Sonne or Zum Goldenen Kopf?
In checking out other threads I have narrowed our last night in Switzerland down to Seehotel Sonne in Kusnacht or Zum Goldenen Kopf in Bulach.
Priorities are ease of arriving by car and then ease of getting to Zurich Airport via bus or train ( we will have a car and continuing on, but in-laws traveling with us will be headed to Zurich Airport)
Ambiance, charm and restaurant also important.
Help me out?

Bülach is certainly closer to the airport than Küsnacht. I think you'll be able to find a nice restaurant with charm in Bülach.
Küsnacht is located on Lake Zurich, which Bülach is not. What is more important to you? Easy access to the airport or lakeside accommodations?
It may also depend on where you are driving to after your in-laws' departure and where you're coming from.

Best I can tell Bulach is a 10 minute walk to the train station ( altho we'll have a car) and then a 17-30 min bus ride to the airport.
Seehotel Sonne is "steps" from the train station, and then a 30 minute train ride to the airport.
Streetside rooms at Seehotel Sonne are about the same as the rooms in Bulach (CHF 205-200) Lakeside rooms at Seehotel are more (CHF 315)
We'll be driving back to Darmstadt Germany, but don't have to be there until late afternoon ( viamichelin says about 4 hours so that's no problem)
This will be October 1. We will be in Weggis for 2 days before, so a lake is not "necessary" but of course it is always nice to dine your last night in Switzerland lakeside!
So I guess I'm most curious about the charm and restaurant part!

Hi wrenwood,
I've stayed at the Sonne twice and can confirm how very easy it is to get to the airport from there. You're right, just "steps" from the train station, then a straight shot to the airport.
The Sonne's restaurant is also top notch. I always have a meal there and haven't ever been disappointed. One big draw that you haven't mentioned is its lakeside garden bar/restaurant. It's worth a stay just for that! It's really really charming.
Good luck with your decision!
