Iberia

Considering booking flights on them to Rome and back to Miami from Venice. Have you all been happy with them?

We flew Iberia once (by accident). We were booked on Continental out of Chicago, but were going to miss our connection because our flight was delayed so they put us on Iberia. I was not happy with them. Will they get you there??? Yes, but I found the attendants to be very unpleasant, the food/beverage service-when offered-was nasty. Also, I know this will sound bizarre... I found the seat bottoms short. I'm 5'9" and my husband is 6'2" and we were both uncomfortable. the entire flight. I don't doubt there safety record and like I said I'm sure they'll get you there safely, but for some reason I didn't get a warm and fuzzy feeling flying with them.

Not trying to scare you away from them, just giving you my opinion. If the flight is only a little bit cheaper than other carriers I would pay a little more to go with someone else and have a more enjoyable experience. If it's a huge difference then it's probably worth it.

Hope this helps!

One Onetravel.net the flights I was looking at was 616.00 per person. The AA flights I am looking at is 852.00 plus 77.80 in tax per person. Big difference. Wanted to know if it is worth it or should I hold out on American who is 40.00 less per person than it was 2 days ago.

For that price diff I would probably go with them. Like I said, they will get you there in one piece (which is key)! Maybe we just hit a bad flight. Worst case you get to your destination cheaper with a not-so pleasant flight. As someone in this forum said in another thread... You're only on the flight for 9hrs give or take. Worry more about how nice your hotel will be!!

Go with Iberia and have a great time!! Also, maybe now your expectations will be lower and you will be pleasantly surprised by the service. Hopefully, our flight was just an anomaly!!

At that price difference you might strongly consider the previous poster's experience to be an unusual one, or at least hope so. The words "unpleasant" and "nasty" are somewhat more subjective than I, for one, would prefer to see in a "review" and then there's this sudden LOOOOOOOOONNNGGGG stretch of the imagination to the supposed "doubtful" safety record.
Nasty service and short????? seats are one thing....crashes are something else again.

In this case you might also consider the possibility of having to connect on the way (Madrid, perhaps??) and if so, whether or not that is worth avoiding.

Good luck.

I checked them out on other forums, and received some other comments about rudeness in the staff. But other persons had reported ok service. We'll be using them in Sept. We saved $500 for the 2 of us, after searching daily for a month or 2. I can deal with rudeness for that price. That much more $ to spend on gelato!!

There would be a stopover in madrid both ways however neither too long.
The fares are still low today and if only I can convince my husband.

American is back up the 40.00 lower that they were yesterday. I want to book within the next two weeks and have been checking everyday.

I just returned from Rome on this airline. There was a 200 dollar drop in price. I asked for a credit for the difference but they said because it was a internet price I could not get it.
they were quite rude about the whole thing. In flight the dinner was ok, but in our Madrid to Rome leg they sold lunch but didn't even offer us a drink. They did have time to try to sell products from a cart down the isle. I won't fly them again.

It seems my husbands instincts are right. He stated we would get what we pay for. So I am still seeking flights for our October trip.

In response to InMiami, will airlines ever refund your money, if prices decrease? I thought that was a thing of the past! I still say saving $500 is worth it, even if I have to put up with rudeness and go without a drink for 2 hours. But each person has to decide for themselves.
