Anyone Recently Stay at Hotel Belvedere di San Leonino or Hotel IlGiglio in Tuscany?
My husband and I are in the process of planning a trip to Italy at the end of March, and we have found several hotels of interest in Tuscany.
We are considering both the Hotel Belvedere di San Leonino and Hotel Il Giglio. However, after doing a search, I was unable to find many recent comments. So I was wondering if anyone stayed at either hotel recently and what was your experience.
Thanks for your help.

Yes, Il Giglio in Montalcino. I have read your report, and you seemed to have enjoyed your stay. You are so fortunate to have visited so much of Italy.
Do you know the Belvedere? If you do, how would you compare these hotels (rooms, ambiance, facilities) besides one being in town and the other in the countryside?
Thanks for the input.

My husband and I stayed several days at Hotel IlGiglio in October of 2002. We had a very nice room with a large patio overlooking the valley. This was one of our favorite stays, the location is great, the owners are very nice and the town is wonderful. Lucky you!

My husband and I are staying at the Giglio in April. They have been great in all our communications with them, and it comes highly recommended on this and other websites. They also have great rates. For Easter week we're staying in a large double room with a view for 85 Euro a night. I'll give a full trip report when I get back.

Is the Il Giglio hotel you are referring to in Montecatini?
i havent booked my trip yet, but that is one of the hotels my travel agent recommended. but she said it was in motecatini, not montelcino. might be a totally different region - i dont know much about Tuscany.

The Il Giglio I am referring to is in Montalcino.
Chico: Did you find Montalcino a good spot to serve as a base for day trips to other hilltowns?
Our decision must be made by tomorrow as to whether we go or not. If we do go it will be the end of March.
Thanks again.
