How long does it take to get from Piazza Navona to the train station?

We are staying pretty close to Piazza Navona and will need to get to Termini Station for a train that leaves at 9:00 a.m. on a Friday if that matters. What is the best way to get 5 people (and standard size suitcases) there and how much time should we allow? I need to let the rental company know what time we will need to check out. Thanks.

If by standard size suitcases you men 26" or larger I would either hop in 2 cabs - or would arrange in advance for a van that can carry everything. If you already have the train tickets getting to the station by 8:30 am is plenty of time. If not - I wold get there earlier.

Buy your tickets the day prior if you can--at a travel agency---and then taxi to Termini that AM. The transfer will take about :15.

We have the tickets already, so that is not an issue. So it sounds like we should leave our apartment by 8:10 or 8:15?

Also, how much would you expect a cab ride to cost?

Not to make you paranoid, but I wouldn't leave later than 8. What if the taxi is late, there is heavy traffic, a strike that blocks a critical road junction, whatever. But I am a nervous nellie about things like this. I would rather get to the station early and wait with a cup of coffee than stand in the street wondering where my taxi is.

You're not making me paranoid, I appreciate all honest comments and would definitely prefer to be extra cautious. My mother tends to get stressed about being late for things like that, if 8 is better then that's what we will plan on.
