Help with FR1 connection from FCO to P. Navona area
I would like to take the FR1 train when arriving at FCO in Rome to get to my apartment rental which is somewhere betw Piazza Navona and Campo de Fiori.
From reading previous posts, I think I should get off at the Trastevere stop, but how do I get to my apartment from there? Take a taxi? If so, does anyone know the approx cost of a taxi ride from Trastevere to P. Navona?
Just curious -- how far of a walk would it be? I'm not interested in walking on arrival since we will have one piece of luggage with us. But I've read there are so many great restaurants in the area.

yes you can get off at Stazione Trastevere and catch a taxi right outside the train station or hop on the tram.
Yes Trastevere is a nice section with many fine restaurants. However, you definitely would NOT want to walk all the way from Stazione Trastevere to Piazza Navona...that would be a haul trust me! You can take the tram as far as just before the Tiber get off and walk a short distance over the river to Piazza Navona..not bad. We stayed in Trastevere right near the river and said last stop and walked to Navona in about 10 minutes leisure pace.(We walked all the way to the Vatican from Trastevere in 15-20 minutes.)
If by taxi...from the Stazione right to our hotel door in Trastevere which took alot of maneuvering to get to the proper street) was around 18-20 euros. Again, though we had to go a long way round to get to our hotel street..so your fare may be less or perhaps about the same if you went all the way to navona area because we did have to cross the Tiber and come back around to Trastevere from another approach.

Yes, I often do this. it is much better that getting the Leonardo express to Termini if you are staying in the Navona area.
You can take a taxi (about €10) from right outside the Trastevere station, usually parked up towards the left hand side.
Or take the tram - buy tickets in the newsagents at Trastevere station or where you bought your railway tix at Fiumicino. The tram is straight out of the station building, straight through the car park, and out of the station compound, about 10 yards up the gentle slope to your left. This tram terminates at Largo Argentina, from where your apartment should only a few minutes walk.
The Trastevere railway station is about a mile from where most people mean "Trastevere" to be, ie the older quarter immediately across the Tiber from the historical centre. Don't walk.

Hi, from Trastevere Railway Station just take the tram n° 8 which stop on the main road just outside the station (right after the parking).
The n°8 terminal station is Largo di Torre Argentina (a must see the ruins which lays there) which is few blocks from Navona square area.
This is a fast and cheap way to reach the city center, forget about taxi which are rare, costly and sometime driven by scammers.

Right outside Termini Train Station you may take the No. 64 or no. 40 bus to Largo Argentina. At this location you will be exactly between Piazza Navona and Campo de Fiori.
Do not go to Trastevere - it is not where you are staying.
The cost of the bus is 1 Euro. Tickets for public bus purchased at Kiosk where they sell newspapers and magazines - all over the city, and typically near bus stops.
