Train from Civitavecchia to Which Rome Station?

Next month we plan to revisit the areas of Piazzas Navonna, Campo Fiori and Rotonda; from express train at port should we exit at Vatican, Trastavere or Termini? If too hot to walk, would take Express 64 or 40 bus or cab; it will be a Saturday and need round trip. Obviously Termini would have best inner-city transport? Thanks Fodorites.

Definitely NOT Trastevere. The station is quite a distance from the area of restaurants that most people identify with Trastevere. It will take you about half an hour (walking) from either Roma S. Pietro or Termini. I would opt for Termini, and you can take either 40 Bus or 64 bus if desired.

Agree, do not have good memories of Trastevere, as that's where our camera was stolen while quietly sitting in last row of the church everyone goes to visit! But I was the fool to put it down, lesson learned well.
