Coccorone in Montefalco meets all your criteria, but don't drink more than a glass of Sagrantino wine if you are the driver.

Amalfi is a beautiful place to visit, but the prices are a rip off... I paid 8 euros for two ice-creams of two scoops... The place to avoid when you're there is a little place directly across from the Church Duomo. Do not go there at all...

See you other thread for a weblink for a Narni suggestion. Also, if you are stopping in Perugia (and you should, it is fascinating) then do check out Cafe Perugia. You can get take-out picnic stuff to go that is beyond belief or dine in their gorgeous upper rooms.

Taverna dei Consoli on Piazza del Comune in Assisi - simply amazing, especially the mixed grilled pork.
The picture on this site of the building on the far left shows the restaurant's terrace on the second floor overlooking the piazza.
http://tinyurl.com/5g9qvf It was a lovely way to spend an evening.

Another vote for La Bastiglia in Spello. Wonderful food, great wine list, and there's also a hotel if needed. Also in Spello if you need some refreshments during the day, visit Enoteca Propezio - run by brothers Roberto and Carlo, they'll match a variety of antipasti with wine selections from their shop - just ask for a degustazione.

If you click on my initials you will find more Umbria stuff than you can use. Including plugs for La Bastiglia.
