Hotel in Istanbul

Hi!

My husband and I are spending 6 nights in Istanbul (first time) and I am torn as to where to stay. I like the idea of being close to the main sights in the Sultanahmet area, but also the idea of being in the Beyoglu or Karakoy area for nightlife/restuarants/cafes. We are in our 30s, fit, and are fairly fast-paced travelers, but not the backpacking type. We enjoy history, food, drinks, soaking in the atmosphere.

I was wondering if booking 2 hotels would be advisable for the amount of time we are spending?

AND what are some hotel recommendations? We are looking to spend in the 200-300ish euro range a night, and a view would be great.

If we do stay in the Beyoglu/Karakoy area, is it still pretty quick to get to Sultanahmet area? Thank you!!

One option is Ibrahim Pasha -- we've stayed here and loved it:

Another is the Ciragan Palace -- it's rack rate is quite expensive, but we got a terrific deal during a recent stay that put it in your price range. It's worth checking!

Have a great trip!

Do check out all the options for
Ciragan Palace..It might surprise you. Many websites offer it and LHW is a frequently overlooked site..

The Ciragan (pronounced Chi-rawn) Palace is an amazing hotel, part hotel and part palace. Unfortunately, I believe it's out of your price range.

Right on the Bosphorus, with a stunning view. Easy walking distance to most sites.

A few years ago, I arranged for a business associate and me to stay there. He was give a free upgrade to the palace. He had a duplex room and amenities you wouldn't believe.

I was rifling through these threads that day and did not notice the date. Was your comment really necessary? One petty reply deserves another. my goodness...
