Hotel Danube. Paris.

Somebody hesitated between hotel Danube and dauphine I think.
So here is the review from travel correspondent Wounparis. Who unfortunately watched a series of 'America first xxx second' yesterday.

So the location is great ! It is perfectly situated in the 6th which a great area. Great area. Not like the 20th - total disaster there. Or the 5th - full of Asians. No 6th is great. Clean full of restaurants close to the Seine. No Mexican here. Great area. Nearly no French either. Just tourists. Fabulous.
Welcome was perfect. I saw only men at the desk. Great guys. Terrific. One sent me to the restaurant au pied de fouet. Fantastic food. No nachos. No tacos. Great French food. Fantastic.
The entrance of the hotel is gorgeous. Clean. Marbled. Perfect to grab ... Whatever.
The room. Clean. Small like in the 6th - no queen bed. French can't sleep. Room enough to put one luggage and a wardrobe. Decorum ? Wallpaper dating from 1965. Correct furniture. Small TV on a table.
Quiet. Very quiet. No Mexican music no outdoor noise. Perfect.
Shower. Small clean. No possibility to grab .. Whatever.
Lift. There is a lift. Big by Parisian standards. 4 pp 300 Kgm.
Modern. Well it was when they replaced the wrought iron one.
So good hotel.
Price ? I paid half of the standard.
Negative points ? Single glazing (should be forbidden) overheated and the shower with a plastic curtain. The kind you touch with a part of your body and you wonder if the guy before you touched the same spot before or after cleaning. Total disaster that curtain.
I'll try to test dauphine later.

Was that the talking style of President Donald? I can picture you doing a voice video "No nachos. No tacos. Great. It's great."

That was the idea.

Yes I'm in my phase 'I can't stand Trump and I'll show everyone I can be as stupid as he is, and maybe people will like it since he got 50% of the votes'.
Childish... I know.
I promise I'll get over it. Soon.

Thanks, I was the one trying to choose. Sounds like I will be happier elsewhere, or it could be I just don't like Trump, either.

;-)
Thanks alison to chave come back !
I saw the Marronier in the same street 40 m from Danube.
I read good reviews of this hotel and it is one of those hotels with a courtyard and rooms on the courtyards. So quieter than quiet. Normally.

Since you came back, I made a reservation next week for the Dauphine.
Price is higher - got a rebate from 238 to 154 € - 4 € above my max budget ;-)
will post after my night.

Dauphine--Bad breakfast, very bad. That was 5 years ago but it hasn't changed or I would know.

And the Suède, that's same as Sweden? Disaster just last night.

Following a comfortable stay at its sister property (Jeanne D'Arc in the Marais) last year, I reserved the Dauphine St Germain for my Paris visit this May. Look forward to your feedback - hopefully their glowing reviews across the travel forums aren't (ahem) fake news.

Apart from my sad attempt to imitate Trump above, I really didn't find the breakfast very good value, it was a fairly skimpy buffet. Our room was decent sized, bathroom large by Paris standards, very clean and attractively furnished. Loved the location, the front desk was helpful.
