I haven't stayed there but do know the hotel. It is nice for a Holiday Inn but is not what you could call central. It is close to Regent's Park but a long way from anything else. The closest tube station is Great Portland St which is on the Metropolitan line and the "wrong" side of the Circle Line. By that I mean it is on the north side of the Circle and most of the tourist areas are on the south side.

In other words, it isn't a terrible location - but it is a long way from the places you will want to visit most days. It is nice in the summer to bee that close to Regents Park for the rose gardens and open air theatre - but otherwise I'd stay somewhere more central.
