Yes I have stayed there two times and wish I hadn't. First of all it is in the middle of nowhere. There is no close tube station, there is no place for breakfast , there is only one or two places for dinner in that area.
NOw the hotel, we stayed because of a very good rate of 69 gbp a night. The room was ok, the hotel a typical tourist class hotel, it is a place we found that many tour companies use. When we were there it was filled with Arabs. THe hotel had 3 tv channels in Arabic including Al JAzeera.
While we were there my mothers clothes were stolen from our room. Even packages of her new panties. The hotel security manager said he didn;t believe it and told my mother she probably left her clothes at home. But gave her 100,000 hilton points to make up for her inconvience of no longer having underware and clothes. I must say those miles looked lovely on her.
The concierge Terry was very nice, he would bend over backwards to accomaodate us. Including booking Eurostar tickets at over a 300 gbp savings. If you do decide to stay there make sure you get a rate that includes breakfast as it is 25gbp per person. Also know that the big red tour bus stops outside the hilton and with proper planning you can use this to get around london.
You may be able to get a low rate at a more convient location at another hilton. If you do go make sure you keep your panties in the hotel safe as well as your black pants and all your other clothes

We stayed there about 12 years ago. As I recall their was a tube stop about a block away. Rooms were very small and quite expensive and the hotel appeared to be approved for flight crews of the various airlines.

Nice neighborhood, but not much going on out there. It wasn't inconvenient, yet you were out there!

I would not stay there again!

US

I haven't stayed there (and probably won't after reading Sandra's post) but if you need more reviews, go to www.flyertalk.com and do a search of the Hilton board. I was researching London hotels while contemplating an awards stay, and they had quite a bit of information. There is additional info in the archives section.

just read all the notes on the kensington hilton. my husband and i are going to london in march and have reservations at this hotel. we have used up all our hilton points on two nights. with all the negative comments, think we will see if we can change to another hotel.
