Heathrow Airport - Accomodations

We are arriving from Terminal 2 late afternoon at Heathrow and leaving the next morning at 10:00 AM. I am looking for an economical hotel with clean accomodations that allows us convenient (Hoppa) transportation to/from the airport but will also provide close transportation to the City of London. I have 2 teenage daughters that would love to do some shopping. Any advice would be appreciated.

Type "priceline Heathrow" (without the quotes) into the search box at the top of the page. More than 50 messages from the archives will appear on the left-hand side of your screen.

I would suggest Priceline is not a good place to look for Heathrow hotels as for the most part they are a false economy. (at Heathrow hotels there are so many extras, transfers and having to purchase everything in the hotel at the isolated hotels like Crowne Plaza favoured by Priceline).

The best hotel for your needs is probably the Jurys Inn, as this is only about 300m from Hatton Cross Underground station. Harrods is about 35 minutes down the line at the Knightsbridge station.
If you'te travelling weekends there is normally a breakfast bundle deal here for about 50-55 GBP including taxes and a buffet breakfast. Get it from somewhere like HolidayExtras. During the week its more expensive and rooms are room only basis.

Then, other budget option suitable for your needs is the Ibis, similar deal as Jurys Inn at weekends, cheaper during week. There are local buses past the front door every couple of minutes that go a mile up the road to Hounslow West Underground, the next stop after Hatton Cross

Be aware that if it is a Sunday the shops will be shut at 6PM so there would be little point in you trying to reach them.

How late is "late afternoon"?

What sort of budget do you have in mind? I'd always recommend an hotel that's attached to the airport to make life easier. What terminal are you leaving from?

Thanks all for your feedback. I will take a look at the Jury's Inn and The Ibis. We arrive at Heathrow at approximately 4:00 PM on a Saturday. Because we will not be spending much time in the hotel we do not need a hotel that offers much more than the basic amenities. I was also looking at the 2 Holiday Inns on Bath Road.
