I've seen the Sant'Andrea highly praised on slowtrav, and there's a B&B called Galla Placidia that has a nice Web site.

Hi Reckoning,
We stayed at Hotel Sant'Andrea in October and would recommend it. Easy to walk to all the central sites.

A good restaurant just down the street from the hotel is L'uovo e la Gallina (The Chicken and the Egg).

Also stayed at the Hotel Diana, very nice, close to San Vitale and the mausoleum of Galla Placida. A little farther from the other locations, but still walking distance to all.

It's a little tricky to find the hotels in the historic center, don't be shy about stopping to ask for directions. Both times we did, kind Ravenna citizens hopped in their car and asked us to follow.

Ravenna is a great place to visit.
