Galway B&Bs
Has anyone stayed in any B&Bs near the center of Galway that they would recommend? We usually stay in Salthill, and I have some recs there, but thought we might spend a night in town in October. Thanks for any suggestions!

www.thegrangegalway.com It has been a year since we were there, but would stay again in a minute.
The rooms are nice sized with cable tv and ensuite baths.
The breakfast is served in the restaurant next door.
It is not fancy, but reasonable, clean and only two blocks from the main pedestrian shopping area of Shop Street.
If you have a car, they do not have parking, but directed us to a secure lot near the Cathedral which was very reasonable.
I would call them, because they do not attend their email.
Have a great time.

Thanks Sher!
The Grange is very different from the types of places where we usually stay, and is quite interesting. Fancy is not necessary; clean and comfortable are. I was just showing the web pages to my husband, who said "Book it!" I will definitely keep them in mind as we begin to firm up our plans!

We stayed several nights at Adare House close in (near the Spanish Arch). Nice rooms, very friendly hosts, large sitting room and a little garden. Good breakfast. Look into it further and see if it might work for you. We booked a triple and a double and not a complaint among us.

Hi Allisonm. We have stayed in quite a few b&b's along College Road in Galway. This is about a 7 minute walk from Eyre Square. The whole road is lined with B&B's. We recently stayed in Petra House and the rate was €40 pppn. Very nice family running it and very large breakfast menu. Enjoy!

Hi Allison. I know that College Road is close, but this was right in the center of Galway.
I had a problem with my knee and seven minutes extra to walk was not going to do it for me at the time.
I asked my husband last night if he would consider staying there again and he said "yes".
If you take the chance, I hope you like it. There is an ATM one block up the street, also.
