Emergencies in Ireland

I'm considering taking my 17 yr old niece to Ireland as a HS graduation present.

She has been on several various behavior meds for 4 years; other than that, she still is a teen - impulsive and headstrong.

I'm concerned about how we might access help if there is a problem with meds, behavior, etc., especially due to her minor status, and neither of her parents will be on this trip.

The emergency #s are 112 and 999 (not 911)

You must have a signed (notarized would be good) letter from both parents and possibly even a PoT for medical treatment.

You might need to show these to even board the plane . . .

Ensure Travel insurance is aware of any declarations that need to be made, better to pay extra for the Insurance than get a big bill should anything go wrong.

Have a copy of all meds should you need to get a prescription whilst here, bear in mind brand names will be different, accessibility of some drugs might be different (drugs licensed in your home country might not be licensed here, vice versa)

Assume everything will go right but have precautions in place if ever needed.

Everything will be fine
