Driving time from Athens to Nafplion, Nafplion to Monemvasia, and Monemvasia to Neapoli
I'm currently working on my Greece itinerary and was hoping someone might know the approximate driving times between Athens and Nafplion, Nafplion and Monemvasia, and then Monemvasia and Neapoli. I was also wondering if anyone had any insight as to how busy the car ferry from Neapoli to Kythira to Kissamos was. (I've tried booking the fery trip online with no luck at several different websites. I really would prefer to book ahead, but am not sure that I will be able to...)
Thanks for your help!

Hi Marian,

The driving time from Athens to Nafplion depends on the amount of traffic you encounter. My memory is from Athens center to Nafplion is about 2 hours. the Greeks can drive from Athens to Monemvasia in 4 hours, but it took us I think about 3 hours from Nafplion to Monemvasia. We got lost twice and we we coming from New Epidavaros, which is a little father away than Nafplion. I can not help you with the rest of your trip, but it sounds wonderful. Have a great time.

hello : in case you haven't made your trip yet, i've recently made most of the journey you're planning. athens-nafpoli is a good drive...good toll roads...about 2 and a half hours. if you take he scenic route to monemvassia -hugging the coast- close to four hours. if you go towards sparta and then turn east on the main road---more like 2 and a half. the ferry from neapoli to kythira runs daily, but at different times each day. plan to overnight on kythira. you'll have to drive on the island, there is nothing much but hotels/apartments in diakofpi (the harbor). kythira town is the place to see--about 30 km from the ferry---but very, very cool. happy travels!!
