Book smaller room with balcony or standard room without?
I no longer plan very far ahead. I'll be in Paris on Sunday and haven't booked a hotel.
Four nights, traveling solo. I'm in a spacious apartment in Rome right now. I can't decide between a single room with balcony at Hotel du Pantheon (has a new name now) or the standard double "with courtyard view or view or Rue Clotaire."
Earlier on this trip I had a single room in Bologna for three nights and was very comfortable. I don't mind a snug room if it's organized well.
I've never stayed by the Pantheon so thought I might give that area a try, although I generally prefer the Right Bank. In an ideal world I'd find a room near Square du Temple but I think I probably should book soon.
Opinions?

Here's a link to reviews for this hotel on Tripadvisor. Scroll to the bottom to see 22 "room tips", which may help: (I love a balcony and will give up extra room for one, but that's just me.)

Thanks, everyone. I booked the room with the terrace. They say there is a table and chair on it. Though I also read that the Pantheon is under renovation...? Oh well, I'll find out.
ruedebuci, I like courtyard rooms for the peace and quiet too, but I've been running A/C this whole trip and I now use a white noise app at night, so I've been okay. Generally I'm a light sleeper.
flygirl, I would love restaurant tips.

Here are two off the top of my head. Excellent food and atmosphere and IIRC the three course meal was something like 30E (which could be a different price now as it's been a few years).
Restaurant Perraudin - I've been here at least three times. Short walk.

Le Petit Prince de Paris. Ditto above. Short walk.

Wait, here is a third. I've only been there once (with Judy and her family) and it's quite good. Would go back in a heartbeat. Maybe a 10 minute walk, give or take.

Just got home last night. The room with the terrace was gorgeous and once I figure out how to get pics from my phone uploaded elsewhere, I'll post a link to photos of the room and terrace.
I did indeed enjoy staying by the Pantheon. Very beautiful, in the thick of things yet quiet, and an easy trip to CDG on RER B yesterday.
Thanks for the votes!
