Air New Zealand to Europe?

Hello. It is getting hard to find a good fair to Europe this summer. The best fair so far is from Air New Zealand. We are going from L.A. to Paris - thru London. Has anybody used this airline & if so what were your thoughts? Thank you.

I've flown Air New Zealand and was very pleased with them.

But - for the route you're going - US to Paris, this won't be an ANZ flight, even if you book it through them. This will be a United Airlines flight, codeshared. Just had a look at their timetables, and that is the case.

So really, you want to think about whether you're good with flying United, which to me isn't close to being as nice as ANZ. Price may make the difference for you though.

I just flew Air New Zealand home from Heathrow to LAX. It was the best airline I have ever flown. Please see my Paris trip report for more details.

Iregeo,

Well, I stand corrected. The ANZ website showed that United operated the flight. That's a nice option then. I really like Air New Zealand. Even if they're not in my usual alliance partnership (oneworld)

Dbacks is talking about the NZ flight from LAX to LHR, and that's NZ 1/2 on a 747-400.

UA also flies this route n/s, UA 934/5 on a 777-200.

UA doesn't fly LAX-CDG non-stop either. Instead, UA926/7 is LAX-SFO on a 737-300, and then 777-200 to CDG.

We flew Heathrow to L.A. a couple of years ago in coach on ANZ and it was very nice, with more room and better foot rests and food than B.A. Our BA plane was late leaving Paris so we missed our connection.

Air NZ probably have the world's best cabin crews. No attitude, sensible, resourceful: practically every one of them started their life as backpackers and understand what it's like to be stuck in a cigar tube for 36 hours.

And, certainly in my experience, universally possessed of a politically incorrect attitude to free booze for passengers. I've never got off an Air NZ flight sober.
