Doesn't really matter as it's easy to top up if you run out but if you allow £6 per day you won't have too much excess cash left on the card

Dont worry about the f days or £ per day. You will want to load a 7-day zone 1&2 travel card plus a little extra for any trips beyond zone 2. Maybe statrt with just the travel card. You can always add more later if you need to.

Just my 2p as I've just returned from London.

We have been to London several times and have used our Oyster cards many times, but depending on our plans, we've also used 7 day travel cards bought from a National Rail station so that we could use 2 for 1 offers, which we did last week.

We were in London for 7 days and used public transport (tube and bus) extensively. I loved being able to hop on a bus for just a couple of blocks when I was exhausted. We found that our travel cards were economical, but were especially a deal when we used the 2 for 1 offers.

VirginMary, you may already know all about this, but I thought I would throw it out there just in case.

Re the 2for1's . . . They are great for couples/groups. My post was assuming you are solo. If so, the travel card I mentioned is a fare-type to load on your oyster, not a paper travelcard as needed for the 2for1 offers.

Yes, I didn't even think to ask the number of people on your trip. Sorry about that.

We had a wonderful time, by the way.

Janisj as you warned me on an earlier post, I think we have a troll here.
