Bareboat charters - anyone?

Has anyone done a bareboat charter out of Florida? We're in the thinking stages but want to hear from folks who have done it. We're looking at early April. Where to go? Miami? Keys? Gulf Coast?

Hi,
We have done bareboating with the Moorings, but not out of Florida. We did one out of Tortola of the BVIs, and one out of Canuan, of the Grenadines. Both were fabulous, and a great experience.

I also did one with the Moorings but out of Greece, not FL. It was fabulous. I have friends who have used them out of other locations as well, all with great results.

Did one years ago with another couple and our 2 kids. Did the Exumas. Beautiful but I like stopping and eating at different places. Nothing, I mean nothing was availabe in the Exumas, so we had to cook every meal. I would suggest where ever you charter that you can get a couple of meals and not have to cook all. Funny, that's what I remember about that trip. Must have scared me huh? LOL! It was a 40 and we drank a lot of yellow birds on the trip.

Thanks for the responses. We don't mind cooking and were leaning to FL as we have companion airline tickets for domestic. That said, anyone charter out of Mexico or Costa Rica?
