The one I have on the island where I live.

Seriously, there are litterally thousdands of rental villas in the Caribbean that range in price from reasonable to astronomical. Add to that the fact that everyone's taste is different and you'll find no one villa to fit all needs.

That said, if you are ;looking for a rental villa check out those on Virgin Gorda's Mahoe Bay. All are very upscale, nicely appointed, the golden sand beach stretches for over 1/2 mile alone a cove of calm crystal clear bright torquoise water, there's an excellent snorkelling reef that runs the whole length of the beach just a 100' or so off-shore, there beach has a western exposure so you have fantastic views of neighboring islands and cays as well as the setting sun. The location doesn't get any better anywhere in the Caribbean.

Last summer we rented one of those great villas on Mahoe Bay in Virgin Gorda. Villa Adagio. Since it was just two of us we were able to take advantage of the two-person rate during the off season. We rented directly from the owner at http://www.adagiovilla.com/

The decks and the views are fabulous. Perfect location - great pool - I highly recommend it. It would also be perfect for a large family or several couples traveling together since all 5 bedrooms are master bedrooms and each affords some privacy.

Here are some photos from our trip:

ditto with the above. Here's a link to our pics at Caribbean Wind villa on Mahoe Bay, VG (3 years ago). You really can't go wrong on that beach!

My favorite is whichever one I'm staying in at the time!

No seriously, all of the ones I've tried have been great. I had wonderful stays at Adagio on Virgin Gorda (www.adagiovilla.com)and at Turtleback & Tradewinds on Grenada (www.SpiceIsleVillas.com).

We once rented a villa on Tortola that is still my favorite. It was on Brewer's Bay, and had 2 bedrooms. What I loved about this villa was the layout - a wrap around porch (you could see the water from the master bed) and a pool. You could open the shutters that separated the kitchen/dining area from the porch, and then it became one great big covered open area. Just the best design of any villa we've rented.

Oh, and the price - it was quite quite reasonable. Not sure if that's still true today, but I bet it is. They do not have a website, to this day the only way to contact them is by phone, from their ad in the back of Caribbean Travel & Life Magazine.

Another favorite was the villa we rented in Hana, Maui...but you didn't ask about Hawaii...

we rented Villa Suzanne this last month on St. Maarten. you can find it on http://www.vbro.com. It has 4 bedrooms - all bedrooms have a king size bed and a beautiful bathroom. the back wall of the villa is a wall of windows - you walk out directly into a big pool. The view is of Dawn Beach and St. Barths. You can walk to the beach where the Westin Resort is. The villa was spectacular and reasonably priced. The location is great - 15 minutes to Grand Case - 20/25 minutes to Simpson Bay area. I highly suggest it!

We have stayed at Turtle Beach House on St Kitts a couple of times now, and will undoubtably return again. One time we went with our 4 children, and once just the two of us. Both times were truly memorable. The island is one of the friendliest I know in the Caribbean, and there's loads to to do and explore, incuding the rain forest and lots of unspoilt beaches. There's an amazing restaurant right on Turtle Beach within a short stroll from the house, a large private pool, and plenty of space inside and outside the house to just chill out and relax in an idyllic location

BellaClaire, I checked out Villa Suzanne online-looks beautiful! You reminded me of our other favorite villa that we stayed at, La Mission on Baie Rouge beach in St. Maarten. We loved this villa b/c of the Spanish style architecture-it was beautiful! And it was right on the beach with a great zero entry pool. We loved the food on St. Maarten as well. This was about 5 years ago, before kids. (seems like ages ago!) I guess the reason this villa doesn’t come to mind first as our favorite is that the beach it was on was rather rough surf wise, and Mahoe Bay in VG blew this beach away. But the villa itself was gorgeous here! The villas in St. Maarten really are beautiful, and very reasonably priced compared to the USVI/BVI villas I’ve priced out. I guess b/c I don’t think St. Maarten is in such high demand right now as the other islands. It’s ashame, b/c we really did enjoy St. Maarten too-the food was outstanding! Maybe we’ll rent a big villa there again someday and do a day trip over to Anguilla

Here’s the villa there that I’ve had my eye on for about 5 years now. It’s just tough going back to an island we’ve already been to with so many others to explore!

chgeeb, the ones I've stayed in are Turtleback and Tradewinds, one time each, and I'm returning to Turtleback in June. I've also stayed at the same owners' budget rental option, Spice Tree Suites.

I've seen from the outside several of the other villas on the Spice Isle Villas website and would be happy to provide whatever limited information I can on them. I just received an email from Nick yesterday saying that there were reduced rates for every rental on his site--you just have to call/email and ask.
