St John Villas

We are planning a trip to St john over the Xmas period. We'd like to stay in a villa. There will be 6 of us, my husband and myself, our 2 children ages 10 and 12 yrs, and my-in-laws, who are both in their 70's. We've found a villa in the Coral Bay area, called Sea Glass, which sounds nice. Has anyone stayed there before? What are people's throughts on staying in the Coral Bay area, versus the Cruz Bay area?

Thanks

LMKaplan,

Have you tried visiting: http://www.caribline.com/cgi-bin/agn...bbeanAgnesHTML

The Cruz Bay/Coral topic comes up almost weekly. There are also villa reviews posted on the site. If you are going to St.John, this site will be very helpful. Have a great time!

I would look into McLaughlin Anderson.

Sea Turtle Villa, and LaLapin are good possibilities. Both are located near Fish Bay w/ great views

Good Luck

Sea Glass looks nice on the Windspree.com site. There are no reviews posted on USVI on-line villa reviews. Possibly do a search on Sea Glass.

We spent two weeks in Coral Bay last year. Driving to the north shore beaches was no problem and the views are fantastic. There is a good selection of restaurants such as Voyages, Island Blues, Shipwreck Landings, and Miss Lucy's. We did our grocery shopping in Cruz ( Starfish Market ) when we went to the beaches. You will need to anticipate how you, your husband, your children, and your in-laws will like Coral vs. Cruz.

Check on access to any villa that you consider. Roads to some villas are very steep. This can be a thrill for the children, not so for the in-laws.

My personal preference would be to stay on the Cruz Bay side. There are many gorgeous villas and much closer to the town of Cruz Bay and the northshore beaches. You will find that driving back and forth from Coral Bay can be a bit tiresome because of the twists and turns and especially at night. You don't want to try that.

Cruz Bay area is also, in my opinion, prettier and more lush, it is not as arid looking. You can always drive to Coral bay.

www.vacationvistas.com is on site that has lots of villas.

Are there any particular nice villas that offer only 4 nights to stay as opposed to a week? I am going to be staying during the low season, in October and I am still having a hard time trying to find a nice villa in the Cruz Bay area that doesn't require a weeks stay. Thanks, Susan

Susan -

If you go on www.caribbeanvilla.com and put in your travel dates, you will find out which villas they will rent for your four days. You may also want to call them and see if any of the other properties, that typically rent for seven day minimums, will compromise.
