Plantana/Casa Caribe/Lacovia/Regal - which one?

I have narrowed it down to the following condos in Grand Cayman for our stay next week: Plantana, Casa Caribe, Lacovia, or Regal Beach. Does anyone have any thoughts? For Casa Caribe, is there construction noise from the Meridian next door? What is the fitness room like? What is the condition of the beach at Regal Beach Club? Condition of Plantana units (price is much lower than the others)? Thanks for any and all help.

I have always loved Plantana and the location. I haven't been in the condo's for years so I can't advise on the condition. I do know that the ground are kept up and the beach there is wonderful. Regal beach will be more populated. Depending on the amount of privacy you are looking for I would go for Plantana. Plantana is further out so you might consider renting a car if you want to stay there, something you will need to factor in. I hope this helps!

Thanks for your reply. I read somewhere else that Regal's beach has eroded pretty badly. My only hesitation about Plantana is that we will not be getting a car and I want to try to go every day to World Gym (by the movie theater) to work out and it will be quite a hike. (But I am trying to get exercise!) I suppose I could rent a bike. My husband likes to get a scooter but I really dislike them. Casa Caribe was somewhat enticing because it actually has an exercise room but it's really hard to judge the property based on what I have seen on the internet. Based on your email address, I am assuming you live in Grand Cayman, or else go there a lot? I really do love it there.

I lived there for 2 years and have been going to the island since I was 15. I am 37 now. I have seen a lot of changes and met a lot of great people. I still have friends down there.
Regal would be easy if you are wanting to get to the gym every day. I can't give you any advice on casa caribe. Lacovia has been around for a long time, I havent heard anything bad. Plantation beach is close but, the beach sucks. You might jump on www.caymanvillas.com to see if they have any pictures that might help.
Good luck!!

Beware of any property south of Westin. The beach is eroding and not coming back. Forget Reagal Beach, Plantation, etc. Casa Caribe is still OK.Go North, towards, Discovery, Aqua Bay, etc.
