My 6yr old son has a severe peanut &tree nut allergy. It has taken me months to find islands & resorts only then to find out that the island doesn't have the quality hospitals that I feel comfortable with. Anaphylactic shock is not to be messed with. He goes no where without an Epi-pen. Going on a trip we would take as many Epi-pens as the doc would give us.
I planned on going to Beaches. They say you can talk to the chef and everything will be safe for him. I also love the fact that they speak English so if we double check what a dish is made of, there will be no language barrier.
Please, need to book a trip soon, any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
Need to know about the quality of the hospitals in Turks & Cacois

TCI has a new very modern Hospital
A couple of things
Beaches is used to dealing with people with allergies and they are very good at it
Email Dr. Menzies or Dr. Bourne. They are 2 excellent expat doctors that will even make house calls. In the email ask about your concerns, and what you can do to reach them if something happens.

The hospital there is very new, but so far has a great reputation. Fortunately I haven't had to try it!
Thank you both so much!
More replies, experiences about the hospitals, Or T&K Beaches welcomed and appreciated.
Caribzack, or any one else, do you know the name of this new hospital and/or how close it is to Beaches resort?
Thanks again.
Cheshire Hall Hospital, not sure of distance. BUT, it is a small island and all is close by.
And Beaches also has staffing nurses on the property. Again, they have had tons of people with allergies and are very good about avoiding reactions.

I do have to say though, instead of getting reassurance from a forum, email Beaches to see how they respond, email Dr. Menzies or Bourne to see how they respond. It's there response if something happens that counts!
