Car Rental Grand Cayman ?

On a Carnival cuise will be in Grand Cayman only one day 7 am to 4 pm

The excursions offered by the cruise ship seem awfully expensive. There are 4 of us but one is older so I don't want to do too much walking so I was wondering could we just rent a car and drive around the island all day? Can I rent a car in advance so I don't get stuck with outrageous rates ?

Any advice ? I just think $95 per person for a 3 hour tour is too much times 4 that would be $380 I believe I might be better off just to rent a car !!!

I highly recommend renting a car and doing your own thing vs paying for the over-priced cruise ship excursions. You can see the blow holes, Rum Point, do 7 Mile Beach further North to avoid the crusie crowds...I suggest up by cemetery reef - great snorkeling and a nice stretch of public beach.

I would def. rent a car.. keep in mind that you drive on the opposite side of the road.. I would try to go to Rum Point indeed.. maybe do a trip to the sand bar..Georgetown will be packed with cruisers... so get away if you can.. We rented ahead at Thrifty not sure all where they have locations. I also think $95 pp is outrageous.. try to hit a nice lunch at the nicer places if you can also!
Have fun! Oh, I'd skip the turle farm.. I thought it was a rip off..

Stingray City is a must do in my opinion....if you want to do this, try a smaller operation like Sotos.

Been busy...end of tax season.

Thanks for the advice, we rented one at Andy's, when we get back I will post and let everyone know how that went.

Now that tax season is over I am looking forward to a week of winding down then off on my trip.....yipeee
