Bermuda - for the young or old?

I am thinking of vacationing in Bermuda with my husband - we're 31 years old. We want to go in June and it appears that the Caribbean is in rainy season then, so we figured Bermuda would be a good choice. I am hearing that Bermuda is more for older, closer to retired folks and that we may be bored. I'm hearing there's no town to walk through at night, or much to do. What do you think?

Kristin,
Go to Bermuda if you like, it's a lovely island but to say that "the Caribbean is in rainy season in June" is ludicrous. Hurricane season begins June 30 and runs through November. The weather in the Caribbean is generally hot and sunny throughout the entire summer. There are the occasional tropical storms and hurricanes. The most common times for those are late August through September. Bermuda is prone to these too.
If you really want to get out of the hurricane belt then go to one of the ABC islands in the southern Caribbean. There is no "rainy season". This isn't like southeast asia where they have monsoon season.

I am 24 and I went to Bermuda with my family last year. I loved it!! There are plenty of pubs and nightlife to be found, and there are plenty of other young people. You will not be bored!!

Feel free to ask any other questions.

Angela

Sunnydays, your post was right on except that the Hurricane season starts June 1 not June 30.

Depends on your definitions. Bermuda's probably mellower than some of the other islands, but if you like beautiful beaches and riding scooters around you'd like the place, young or old. If you want rowdy, be sure to check out the Swizzle Inn after 10pm.

My husband and I are in our later 30s and just went to Bermuda in July of this year. It didn't rain at all while we were there, and we had a great time! The Bermudians are so friendly and polite. They had a 4th of July celebration in Hamilton which was touching. We loved Horseshoe Bay as well as Tobacco Bay and Fort St. Catherine's. St. George's island was quaint, and I think that was our favorite. If you've never been, I would definitely recommend it.

No problem - great weather around that time, warm enough, and it certainly is not an 'old foagy' island. I know a 25 year old couple that had a great honeymoon there in May.

Have a wonderful time.
