Thailand Honeymoon in August
My wife and I live in Chicago and we really want to explore an exotic locale we won't get back to for a while for our honeymoon. We are considering traveling to Thailand for 2 weeks in early August. Any suggestions/advice where to visit and what to do given the rainy season?

It isn't rainy season everywhere in Thailand. You'll want your beach time on the Gulf of Thailand side, so Koh Samui and the surrounding area. Spend some time in Bangkok and enjoy the great food, luxe accommodations and interesting shopping.

there will be some rain for sure, but it will not be bad--sept. is far worse..
tell us about your daily hotel budget and the amount of lux you like.
personally I always start and finish my trips in Bangkok and visit at least one other place in between..
august will give you the best hotel rates of the year which is an added advantage.

I'd be arriving in Bangkok, and my must visits are Chiang Mai and Koi Samui - any other must see destinations? Also, what are places where you think weather would be bad and inadvisable to travel?

If you have time visit the Elephant Nature Park out side of Chang Mai for a over night stay. This is a rescue home for
abused trekking and logging Elephabts land mind victims and more. All roaming free with out chains and the use of hooks . You get to
Interact with them. NO cruel riding or circus acts here. You will get up close to give them a bath and to hear there incredible stories.A beautiful setting on 200 acres I think.
Somthing you will never forget! If you love animals. Great food and massages too!
