Seoul hotel recommendation? Around US $150 night

Any recommendations for a good hotel in Soeul for around $150 US/night? We're going for a quick weekend trip for our anniversary. We'd prefer a central location, with interesting areas near the hotel.

If you don't know of specific hotels, I'd also like location recommendations (best area of town for tourists).

Thank you!

Andrea

The Hotel Capital is very close to Ite Won. There is a subway stop nearby.

We found the Koreana hotel near the City Hall to be fine. It's well placed and reasonably priced, probably about a 4 star. The rooms are reasonably sized and clean.

If you want to spend a bit more the Radisson in the same area looked great and the restaurant was very good. Sorry, don't know what the prices would be as we were on a package deal, bu I would guess the Koreana at least is within your price range.

Both of these are well placed for siteseeing, there are a lot of hotels in this area, and the City Hall (I think) subway station is right there.

One to avoid - the Hotel Dong Seoul, inconvenient and unpleaseant area, the hotel stinks ( literally - a mixture of stale cigarettes and rancid kimchee ) and you can still hear the noise from the road on the sixth floor - we demanded to be moved. To be honest I can't imagine you'd find yourself there though.

If you can spend $150 per night, why don't you find a five star hotels? Those hotels suggested up there are not good for your romantic anniversery, even though Itaewon is a very interesting place for westerners.
Hotel Lotte is the best choice, I guess. It has biggest department store, duty free shops, nice restaurants in the building, while it has small chinatown, shopper's mass Myoung-dong on site.

Either Hotel Lotte or Koreana Hotel will be a great choice for your trip. In addition to them, I guess I can recommend Hotel Shilla and Grand Hyatt Seoul. Both of them will be within your price range, and as you will already know if you've browsed the web for some info, they are among the best hotels in town.

Anyway, please have a wonderful time in Seoul!
I think the Shilla will be much more than that but it is a fine hotel and definitely worth checking. If you want convenience and luxury, I would recommend the Westin. It is close to Myongdong and the rooms on the renovated floors are great. It is quite expensive and the Lotte next door is also an option. When you are in Seoul, make sure to go to the Hyatt and grab a drink at the lobby. The panoramic view is amazing.

I'm not sure what the prices are like these days, but I stayed at the JW Marriott hotel two years ago and it was absolutely magnificant.

I recommend the Seoul Hilton. Very close to Namdaemun, Myong Dong, Lotte, and a short taxi ride to Itaewon. Great restaurants, beautiful lobby, great swimming pool, nightclub, fitness center, spa, pretty rooms with comfortable beds, and great service.
