One and Only Kanuhura ?
I am thinking of staying at One and Only Kanuhura in Maldives - any feedback? I am looking for luxury, beautiful scenery, peace and quiet (couples over families), over-water bungalows with privacy (not too close together) and no boats or loud transportation during the day. Is this resort the one to make me happy? I am planning on Feb 06 - for the price I am paying I want to make sure it is the best decision. Thanks!

We stayed in a beach villa at Kanuhura & absolutely loved it there.
I've been to soneva fushi, coco palm (& soon to be going to Huvafen Fushi)...of the three I've stayed at so far, Kanuhura was my favorite for various reasons.
You'll love it...no worries.

I've just returned from a visit to Kanuhura and Reethi Rah in the Maldives, both One and Only hotels. If you want luxury, private over water villas and less children, go to Reethi Rah. Although the Kanuhura is lovely, it is much smaller and as a result the villas are far closer together and there are many more children. Couldn't compare the Reethi Rah with anywhere we'd stayed before. It's worth every penny.

i'm going to one and only kanuhura for my honeymoon in a few months, and we're having a hard time deciding between a water villa or beach villa. the water villas seem like they're right on top of each other - what do you recommend? do the beach villas have more privacy? would we be missing out on more of an experience if we didn't stay in the water villa?

I stayed in a water villa at Reethi Rah and then a beach villa at Kanuhura. To do both is perfect - you could probably do both at Kanuhura if you stay for long enough. It's a pretty different experience. All of the villas at Kanuhura are much closer together than at Reethi Rah, but the trees on the beach make the beach ones reasonably private. The water villas did look to be quite close, but I don't know whether you can hear/see your neighbours.
During our stay in October, there were high winds throughout. If you prefer calm weather, the east side of the island had less wind. I would make sure that you don't get a beach villa that's right behind the water villas or they will be your only view. Check out the island map on their website.
