Great Escape Villa in Treasure Beach- Any info??
Hi- I was wondering if anyone has stayed at Great Escape Villa in Treasure Beach?
I was thinking of staying in Treasure Beach for our next family vacation and came across Great Escape which looks great and sounds very reasonable. Any help would be greatly appreciated- or other ideas of where to stay.
We are a family of 4- two kids 6 & 9.
Thanks alot!

We specialize in Treasure Beach/The South Coast;you'll find 10 holiday properties on the site above, including Unforgettable, where Ann Vassell, Rambo James and Jem Parchment have welcomed many families. We'll also be opening two new villas in the area this summer...

Blue Marlin or Coquina on a great stretch of child-friendly, calm water beach. Sally Parchment and her sisters, cook/housekeepers for the property, are kid favorites. Any of the villas on Billy's Bay beach are also a good choice for a family of 4.

Thanks Tivertonhouse for all your information!!
Unforgettable looks fabulous as well as blue Marlin & Coquina! The only thing about Blue Marlin/Coquina is there is no pool which is something I really want for the kids- too bad the villa looks perfect!
We are not planning on going to TB until next May or July 06- when is the best time to book for this time period?
Thanks again!

First half of May on island is generally good weather with rains coming in mid month, heaviest toward the end, and June, traditionally rain season in most all of Caribbean (although St. Elizabeth is the driest parish on island, where onion/watermelon/pineapple/carrot/escallions are grown for the entire island). The Calabash Literary Festival (see www.calabashfestival.org)
takes place the last weekend in May in TB/an amazing event, if fully=booked out with about 2,000 intl.visitors. AND THE WHOLE THING IS FREE. That should factor into your time decision -- but Great Bay/Billy's Bay/Fort Charles area of Treasure Beach are isolated and more private than Calabash/Jake's oceandside fields at Jack Sprat where the event is held under tents. Big=name/and emerging
writers international do readings and workshops and concert performances. Russell Banks, Amiri Baraka and Jamaica Kincaid are this May's scheduled headliners of about 15-20 writers. July will give you dependably hot/sunny weather. Unforgettable gets booked out solid July and August every year btw.,often with repeat guests. The lack of a pool shouldn't be a drawback at Blue Marlin/Coquina since the beach they commandeer is so superb and waters child-friendly (this is where locals teach their kids how to swim). The big lawns/gardens are plus point. And so is feeding the goats outside the gates every morning after breakfast -- something lots of kids remember vividlly once they get home, as they do with the good swimming. A/C in July, tho, is good to have/most of our villas in the most private Fort Charles/Billy's Bay area have it.

P.S. We're shooting a brand new villa just now being finished and furbished in Billy's Bay this May called LA SIRENA/3 bedrooms, plunge pool, oceanfront. Might be one to also put on your shortlist. Pix should be up on site about 1 June...
