Food for thought(Bangkok)
Here are two places in Bangkok that sound interesting to eat at. The first place is simple, but right on the riverfront. It is called Ton Pho. The other place sounds fun. It has a huge mist fan, junglelike atmosphere with ponds and fountains, and is called Ana Garden. Has anyone eaten at either place, and would they recommend them?

the mist garden sounds horrible to me...first you must be eating outside where it is hot and humid....now you have a fan propelled mist that showers you all during your meal....so when you are finished you are wet but not hungary....not for me....
mists are fine at beaches or in clubs that are packed and where the crowd is young at heart....but in a restaurant in bkk....not for me...
call me old fashioned...i choose a/c...

redtop, I have eaten at both of them! Ton Pho is the better of the two but Ana Garden is defintely worth your time!

oh, and regarding A/C, neither of these restaurants have it. Ton Pho is completely open onto the riverfront and just has lazy overhead fans and Ana Garden mist fans aren't as dodgy as they sound.
You can sit away from the mist fans if you like. I thought it was a fun place and didn't come out drenched! I guess you can go take a look and if you don't like it, choose another place?
I also would recommend the "food court" (very loose description) at Suan Luam Night Bazaar. It's loads of fun. I've also reviewed that on my site.

If the mists are anything like what they do in Kuala Lumpur at outdoor restaurants, they keep you cool and you don't get wet. It's sort of like outdoor aircon. We ate at lots of restaurants that have mist fans and it was quite comfortable.

I'm with Gloria and Bob- give me the AC.
After walking around in that oppressive heat/humidity- I really want the AC to refresh me while I'm eating - it helps re-charge the batteries so that I can resume my activities.
