Dec. Thailand/SR itin. advice?
Just thought I'd post this before I decide on either Siem Reap or Luang Prabang for my final stop. This is what I have booked so far:
Dec.29-3rd BKK w/DH
Dec. 3-6th TG to CR Anantara
Dec. 6th SGA flt to CM
Dec. 6-9th CM Four Seasons
Dec. 9th TG CM to BKK arrives 11am
Dec. 9th I can either take a 1:30 flt to LP or a 3:30 flt to SR. I am leaning towards SR and there seem to be plenty of rooms available and flts on BKK Air-have one reserved to LP but can easily change it to SR. Will fly back to BKK on Dec. 12th for ov-night before early a.m. flt back to LAX.
I have booked all my hotels online but I may cancel the Anantara and rebook with a Virtouso agent. I have no tours booked yet but have email addresses from this board for good guides. Any suggestions appreciated! I will be solo for all but BKK-hopefully, it won't be just me with a bunch of honeymooners!

Forgot to mention, I booked the Pen for BKK online at a rate that inc. brk, and 2 spa treatments, but may rebook also with an agent. For my last night in BKK on Dec. 12th, booked the Hyatt for last minute shopping!

sounds like a deal....
i am still concerned about the 11 arr and the 1:30 dep....if anything goes wrong so maybe SR is better....also many more hotels available there....
i am also a bit concerned about your return to bkk with only about 12 hours on the ground or so, but i guess that will be ok...
you will do fine with 3 days in SR....pick your hotel carefully and get going on your guide....
how about a next day flight to LP?? but i would say it all depends on the hotel availability there which is often tight...

I will be interested to know what kind of deal you can get through the Virtuoso agent. I have already booked directly with the Pen and Anantara GT, but have a friend who is a Virtuoso agent, so would love to have her help me if it is advantagous for both of us.

You can see what the Virtuoso prices and amenities would be on www.whatahotel.com...input your e-mail address and the Virtuoso prices and benefits come to your mail box within a minute. Other than doing that, you could of course ask a Virtuoso agent directly. Depending on season and the hotel's own specials, Virtuoso can and often does work out to be better...but not always.

Thanks but I have now decided on SR definitely so will have lots of time to connect and I just couldn't stand the thought of being in the "area" and not seeing Angkor Wat. Hopefully, I'll get back to see LP sometime. Now, to figure out clothes to take!
