www.asiavoyage24.com
HI,
I was wondering if anyone had first hand experience booking hotels on www.asiavoyage24.com? We booked a night in Bangkok on that site, three weeks ago, and as of yesterday there was no charge to my credit card. Interestingly, visa called me today, to verify unusual transaction attempts from a web-based hotel serivce-all declined, thank goodness. I contacted the hotel directly to confirm the reservation, and found that they did have a reservation, but not anywhere near the quoted rate online. I have read lots of threads on this site talking about www.asiavoyage24.com, but am very interested in personal experiences-good or bad. Thanks.

tanya...i often mention the site because it has such good rates...i have never used it...if you are unsure i would use: www.huahin.20m.com...i use it all the time and it is just slightly more expensive than is asia 24....they are totally reliable....

with the hua hin site they charge you for nite one immediately and then charge the rest of your stay about 2 weeks before arrival...they send you an immediate res confirmation and then a voucher after the final payment....maybe asia 24 does something similar and since you only have one nite they do not charge it until nearer your arrival time...they must have an e address you can contact...why don't you do that...

tanya, I'm not sure I understand the problem fully. Your Visa did not allow the transaction, do you know how much the transaction was for? Was it the correct amount for your hotel room and they made multiple attempts because your card turned them down? Or do you belive that someone tried to charge you multiple times for reservations you didn't make? And I'm unclear about the hotel's price quote. If you booked through asiavoyage, then you'd pay asiavoyage, not the hotel... Can you clarify what the problems were?

I know that Bob & Kathy are partial to 'their' web sites. however, I found that I was able to consistently get lower prices than any of about a dozen for BKK hotels on www.precisionreservation.com For the record, I booked the Royal Orchid Sheraton via a BKK travel agent and tried to confirm it by contacting the hotel directly, LOL: there was no record. But, the travel agent explained that they book through a tour group and not to owrry. Sure enough. 5 days before she emailed the vouchers and there was no problem (i.e.: the hotel even had my name.) good luck; it does get to be overwhelming when checking 10 sites for "the" best price.
