SkyLux - Anyone have Feedback??
SkyLux -- has anyone had dealings with them?? They are listed in Travelzoo's site -- and i trust Travelzoo-- but when I research their great business fares, I don't come up with much information. Makes me worry that someonet might be scrubbing any criticism of them???
Would love to hear from Fodorites who have used their discount business class fares??

A hacker managed to steal 300,000 frequent flyer miles from my American Airlines account and sold them to FlyLux, who then used them to sell "cheap" business class and first class tickets to three different passengers.
The tickets were canceled and the travelers were out several thousand dollars each. Mileage brokers like SkyLux are the bane of the industry and you run a very high risk (I'd say close to a certainty) that you'll be throwing your money away. And if you happen to have a mileage account with the airline you're using with these bad tickets, you'll also probably have your account closed and your miles confiscated.
Trust me, you want to stay away from outfits like this.

Note to clarify, I believe SkyLux and FlyLux are the same people. While I was going through the process of trying to get my miles reinstated by AA (which took three months) I spoke to several people in AA's corporate fraud department. While they were barred from saying outright that this was fraud (I assume AA's lawyers and insurance people will try to avoid any chance of libel) they kept using the names interchangeably.

yikes. thanks. had no idea that they operated by reselling miles into tickets. kind of surprised that a reliable outfit like travelzoo (been booking through them for years) is posting fares for this company. i figured it wasn't good when i couldn't find anything on them. am imagining that this post will be scrubbed at some point as well.... we'll see.
