SFO to London-- wait for September Fares?
i am flying myself and a dear friend to london in mid-september and have been scouring for fares.
everyone seems to be showing about the same-- around $1,000 for nonstop roundtrip.
can some of you frequent flyers tell me whether i could (historically speaking) expect a fare drop if i wait a while?? thanks much for any thoughts!

rkkwan- thanks much for the info. we have always flown to europe using ff miles. i always hear of the $700 fares and such in the media-- but am now thinking that they must all be from the E coast. i think i better just jump. (was hoping they'd be givin' them away after the olumpics. dream on...)

That's reasonable in the current market and as rkkwan notes fares are more likely to increase than decrease. Suggest using a search engine like ita's matrix ( http://matrix.itasoftware.com ) to scout out options but would not hold out a lot of hope for something much lower in price. You might save a few dollars by taking a connection rather than a nonstop but that makes for a loooong flight!

One major caveat is the UK tax for flying out of the UK. Not cheap. Check out some of Gardyloo's posts for details.
